We are experiencing something quite unique. During this time, there’s not many answers in helping us navigate our way through how to run our business. We decided to help our fellow business owners, creatives, and entrepreneurs, by hosting a zoom gathering. During this zoom gathering, we were able to help give some tips on establishing a solid foundationg during an unknow time and gathered some tips on how to pivot your business.

We’ve put together all of the takeaways from our gathering. We’ve also attached our notes from the zoom gathering. If you scroll all the way down, you can watch our zoom conference.

How To Keep Your Business Thriving During COVID-19 Tips

  • Find ways to cut your expenses down to only what is essential for running your business. Cancel app subscriptions you don't use! Get on a shared phone plan with your friends! Ask your landlord for a break in your rent!

  • Let your customers know what you are still offering. If you're closed, tell them. If there are still ways to support you (gift cards, discounts, etc.), let them know. Be open, vulnerable, and honest.

  • Take a closer look at how you can use this time to build a stronger operational foundation for your business. How can you utilize e-commerce to sell products and non-tangible goods?

  • Poll your audience! This may be the perfect time to develop that idea that you’ve been lingering on. Take advantage of this opportunity since everyone is on their phones and computers.

  • It's OK to feel weird about pushing sales right now. But this is also how we make our living and there are some people who will be less affected by this crisis than others, who are still able to help support small businesses.

  • Be a leader in your industry. Help solve problems, share advice on how to stay motivated and creative, and show up for your community.

  • Seek out work that can be done remotely. Check out this list of businesses that are hiring for remote work, shared by community partner Christy Thorton!

  • The tax filing date and deadline for payments has been pushed back to July 15! Definitely something to smile about!!
