SDRRC is proud to support Good Neighbor Gardens, an urban farming organization in San Diego, dedicated to educating our city about the importance of reconnecting with where our food comes from and developing compassionate stewards of the land. This concert serves to raise much needed financial resources for their brand new education fund. The money raised will help train program directors, teachers, parents and students throughout the city. Join us in support of their crucial work to help protect our planet.

Our fabulous event partner for this performance is You Belong Here, an affordable, inclusive and inspiring place for creatives to work and play.

About Good Neighbor Gardens:

Our mission is to create a community of neighbors sharing their resources to ensure that everyone has access to the healthiest, freshest food at an affordable price. If we all do our part to take care of the resources that feed us, we all stand to benefit.

We farm yards and support school gardens. We aggregate the extra harvest and distribute it to neighbors in the city. A portion of the proceeds goes to garden education and school farm maintenance.

Schools are at the heart of every community so Good Neighbor Gardens works with teachers, parents, and administrators to bring edible gardens to campus. We get kids outdoors to learn about food production, natural science, and engineering. Through our experiential curriculum, our farm hands nurture compassionate young stewards of the land.

The food harvested at each school goes directly to the cafeteria for students to eat. Good Neighbor Gardens volunteers then distribute the surplus harvest to subscribers in the surrounding community.
